The responsibility of the Emergency Management section within FSU Public Safety is to ensure that Florida State University (FSU) is prepared to respond to, prevent, recover from, and mitigate against the effects of a wide variety of disasters that could adversely affect the health, safety, and/or general welfare of its students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families. The Emergency Management program is designed to provide the structure and guidance for the development of a hierarchy of programs for preparation, mitigation, planning, and recovery from disasters. Emergency Management at FSU is governed by University Policy OP-E-5.
