Director — The Director of Emergency Management oversees Florida State University’s efforts to prepare for, prevent, respond to, recover from and mitigate against the effects of a wide variety of emergencies and disasters that could adversely affect the health, safety, and/or general welfare of its students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families. The Director coordinates the University’s Emergency Management Team, maintains the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP), conducts situational awareness monitoring, training, exercises, campus disaster preparedness education and collaboration with our community partners. The Director manages the FSU Alert, emergency notification and warning system.

Federal Work Study — Students eligible to receive Federal Work Study employment as part of their financial aid package are welcome at FSU Emergency Management. These positions provide programmatic support, including but not limited to: reception, clerical, data management, social media management, creative services (generate visual content), research and planning, special event support, and/or responding to customer service requests.
